M1400 A04 BIOS Update – Release Notes
Update Description:
This Motion Computing A04 BIOS Update is to be applied to the M1400 Windows XP Tablet PC only.
This Updated release addresses:
“Bluetooth Device not Detected in Windows” - on some tablets the Bluetooth device is detected intermittently on power up of a system that has been powered off for several hours.
For a few select customers who received interim BIOS(s) and were seeing a failure to rotate on pressing the rotate button, this BIOS update fixes that failure.
Details:
NOTE prior to updating to the A04 BIOS, the
customer must verify the AuthenTec Driver installed
is not version 6.26.1.0.
To Check the AuthenTec Driver version
1. Click on Start > Control panel.
2. On the System Properties, click on “Hardware” tab.
3. Click on “Device Manager”
4. In the Device Manager, click + on Universal Serial Bus controller to expand the category.
5. Double click on “AuthenTec AES2501”
6. On the AuthenTec AES2501 properties, click on “Driver” tab.
7. The driver version is the 3rd item from the top. Check for driver version 6.25.0.0.
To Rollback the AuthenTec Driver if you have
version 6.26.1.0
After getting to step #7 above do the following
1. In AuthenTec AES2501 properties, click on “Roll Back Driver”
2. A warning window will pop up “Are you sure you would like to roll back to the previous driver?”
3. Click on “Yes”
4. The driver will roll back to previous version and user can see the change on AuthenTec AES2501 properties. The driver version should reflect 6.25.0.0
5. Close AuthenTec AES2501 properties.
6. Driver rolled back and there is no need to restart system.
7. Close Device Manager, System Properties and Control Panel Window.
8. End of roll back.
