Overview

The Dashboard is an application provided by Motion Computing to assist users with managing the features and functionality provided with their M1400 Tablet PC.

This release provides several fixes listed below.  Customers may not be experiencing any challenges with their current software, so it is important to read the “What’s New” and “Known Issues” sections to determine if this release is appropriate to download and install.

As with any software update, customers should first make certain they have adequate and current backups of their data before performing an upgrade.  Customers are also urged to create a Windows XP System Restore Point before proceeding.
 
What's New In This Release
  • Recognition of Microsoft Bluetooth SP2 stack as well as Widcomm stack
  • General modifications to operate with the Microsoft Bluetooth stack
  • No longer gets MFC error at startup
  • Bluetooth status no longer shown as disabled even when the blue light is blinking.

Note: For Bluetooth issues it is strongly recommended that customers apply the A04 BIOS Update, if not already applied.

  • Tablet Input Panel button is removed from Dashboard. (TIP would not work under SP2)
  • Problems with ALS device are noted by a passive message in the Display area, rather than a popup box each time Dashboard launches. (The ALS issue due to unsupported Intel Graphics driver being deployed on the tablet.)
  • How to determine the release version of Dashboard?

  • For 3.0.3.2 the version number appears in Dashboard title bar when Help is selected.  (Note: For 3.0.2.5 the version always appears in the title bar whereas for 3.0.2.7 it only appears in file tool tip)

  • Bluetooth and WiFi now properly display Registered Trademark symbols.
  • The default settings via Dashboard for the microphone angles are now Narrow(60 degrees), Medium(90), and Wide(180, or unfocused).
  • Ability to synchronize Dashboard microphone angle settings with Intellisonic’s settings. (This capability is activated as part of the Intellisonic 2.0.1 Update process.  See Intellisonic 2.0.1 Update for instructions)
  • "Train" button is now labeled "Calibrate" on the Dashboard User Interface (UI).
  • Dashboard slider bars are now thicker to make pen manipulation easier.
  • Minor cosmetic changes in Dashboard for elimination of inverse video highlighting on headings.
 
Known Issues and Limitations
There are none at this time
 
Installation and Configuration Instructions

To install the Dashboard 3.0.3.2 update, do the following:

  • Download Dashboard 3.0.3.2.zip file to directory location of your choice
  • Extract all files
  • Navigate into the newly created directory
  • Run Setup.exe and follow displayed instructions using the default settings.  This will modify your Dashboard installation, leaving any non-default Dashboard variables in place.
