Motion Computing Offers Protective Case to Enhance Tablet PC Durability in Harsh Environments

New Case Improves Water and Dust Resistance for Motion LE-Series

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 13, 2006 – Motion Computing®, a leader in ultra-mobile computing and wireless communications, today launched a new protective case to add resistance to shocks, bumps, water and dust, and increased durability for its LE-Series tablet PCs.

With a hinged clamshell design, the Motion™ Protective Case supports use of the tablet in harsher work environments, such as construction sites, and encloses the tablet while providing access to major ports and full functionality of the tablet experience. The case also includes an X-shaped hand strap on the underside for holding the tablet, a molded carrying handle, and four-point shoulder strap to enable use of the tablet whether walking, standing or sitting.

Additional features of the Motion Protective Case include:

  • Enclosure of a PC Card with a PC Card Pod to protect from the elements;
  • a clear vinyl screen protector for preserving the tablet usage experience;
  • an External Digitizer Pen holder for easy storage and retrieval; and
  • built-in fans to support thermals of tablet use in an enclosed case.
“This new product provides an ideal balance of adding durability without adding significant volume or weight at a significantly lower cost compared to other models with similar features.” said Tony Bonadero, Motion vice president of product management. “As Motion continues to be a leading innovator in tablet technology, we hope that our customers find the LE-Series Protective Case an additional asset to the mobile lifestyle their professions require.”

The Motion Protective Case is available now for $349.99 MSRP.
