MotionAssist Includes New Options for Warranty, Financial Services and Training
AUSTIN, Texas, April 11, 2006 – Motion Computing®, a leader in mobile computing and wireless communications, today announced enhancements to MotionAssist™, including new options for warranty, financial services and training. MotionAssist provides comprehensive support for North American customers working with Motion’s award-winning slate tablet PCs and peripherals.

Warranty, Repair and Extended Protection
MotionAssist now includes the option to upgrade to 2-year and 3-year standard warranties within 90 days of the purchase date of all new Motion tablet PCs. All Motion tablet PCs ship with a limited 1-year warranty.
Motion now offers multiple repair options for product under warranty. To make product repairs easier, Motion customers receive prepaid shipping labels and, in the U.S., prepared packaging materials for shipping to the company’s centralized repair depot. Customers receive repair service within a five-business-day turnaround in most situations.
The MotionAssist Maintainer Program certifies customers and partners in the U.S. to repair L-Series Motion tablet PCs on-site. Certified maintainers receive training, technical support and can order parts at the customers’ location – minimizing potential computer downtime. Qualified warranty repairs performed under the MotionAssist Maintainer Program are eligible for parts and labor reimbursement.
For customers interested in additional investment protection, Motion offers MotionGuard® by Safeware® as a complement to its standard product warranty. MotionGuard protects customers’ tablets and peripherals against unexpected external causes of computer downtime not covered under the standard warranty terms and conditions – including accidental damage, such as drops and spills, theft, fire and vandalism.
Financial Services
Motion’s financial services include a range of financing and leasing options. Flexible-term financing is available for hardware, software and services purchased through Motion. Customers also can choose to lease Motion technology for up to 60 months. Dedicated financial professionals directly assist Motion customers with financing and leasing options.
Training
To help companies best integrate Motion tablets across their workforce, Motion offers several training options to customers and partners. Motion instructors can customize on-site training, with hands-on tablet tutorials and presentations at customers’ offices. Additionally, Web-based e-learning courses are available to train users on the unique features and functionality of Motion tablet PCs.
